What if an unused bedroom could become the spacious bathroom your family needs? For one family in Cornwall, Ontario, Millennial Contracting made it possible. This $75,000 project transformed an existing bedroom into a luxurious main bathroom and converted the old bathroom into a dedicated laundry room.
The Challenge: Making Better Use of Existing Space
The homeowners had two problems: their main bathroom was too small for their family’s needs, and their laundry area lacked functionality. Instead of simply updating the existing rooms, they wanted a layout that would make everyday life easier.
The solution was to rethink how the available space was being used.
The Solution: A Bedroom-to-Bathroom Conversion
Millennial Contracting redesigned the upper level to create two practical spaces. The former bedroom became a spacious main bathroom featuring a freestanding tub, custom shower with a tiled niche, and frameless glass doors.
The original bathroom was transformed into a separate laundry room with custom cabinetry and quartz countertops.
Porcelain tile was selected for its durability and easy maintenance, while bespoke millwork and carefully chosen finishes created a cohesive design throughout both rooms.
Project Timeline and Investment
The project required four weeks of design planning, followed by a two-week building permit approval process. Construction took seven weeks, and the renovation was completed in March 2025.
The total project investment was approximately $75,000, covering the transformation of both spaces.
The Results: More Space, Better Functionality
The finished home now offers a larger main bathroom and a dedicated laundry area that the family uses every day.
The homeowners shared their experience:
“We hired Millenial Contracting to remodel our main bathroom and add a laundry room on the upper level of our home. We are very happy with the outcome! The process went smoothly and the final product truly impressed. We will be hiring them again to renovate our main floor.”
